whistler-olympics-whistler-olympic-snow-sculpture-largeWith one year to go until the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Whistler welcomed the unveiling of the 2010 Olympic torch and torchbearer uniform with exciting festivities.

A number of events took place throughout the Village on February 12th as visitors and locals were invited join communities across the nation as they made some noise to celebrate the one-year countdown. The 2010 Winter Games mascots were in attendance and the famous countdown cake was served. In addition, Whistler Blackcomb turned up the heat with fireworks, fire spinners and the top free-riding athletes from the ski and snowboard school as they jumped through the “Ring of Fire” (see events page!).
