Whistler’s Canada Day 2010 celebrations will serve as a chance to celebrate our nation’s 143rd birthday as well as the success of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

“This year’s celebrations are a chance for Whistler to celebrate Canada Day and our role as national ambassadors during the 2010 Winter Games. We’re excited and we invite Whistler residents and visitors to get involved,” said Whistler Mayor Ken Melamed. The three-day Whistler Canada Day 2010 Celebration, starting Thursday July 1, is an exciting way to experience all things Whistler – including sport, live music, culture food and drink, and fireworks. Whistler Canada Day 2010 serves as an opportunity to celebrate our Olympic and Paralympic athletes, rekindle the community spirit and pride seen here during the Games, enhance the launch of the summer tourism season, and strengthen partnerships in the resort.

For Whistler residents the celebration bookmarks more than a decade of planning and preparation. It’s a chance to recognize the efforts of many in the community.
